New Student Information

This page should help you get up to speed on information covered at the start of the school year.  As you can see, class information is posted on the web and is accessible 24/7 from any PC in the world.  You will need the following to access and print worksheets.
Adobe reader 5.0 or newer -  Most newer computers come with a version of this program.  To test and see if the computer you are now using has it click on this link to open the adobe test page.  If it does not open, don't worry, you can get the newest version of adobe reader 7.0, free, by clicking the logo box and following the directions.      Get Acrobat Reader

Loan Disk available:  If you have a slow Internet connection,  I can loan you a disk with Adobe versions 5,6 and 7 which is the latest..  It will save time and avoids problems.    To borrow the disk there will be a small $2 refundable deposit  to help guarantee its return.
You say you don't have a computer or Internet access.   The Downey High school library does as well as most classrooms on campus and all you need is a free Internet account to get on-line.  If you need a password, see Mr. Mendenhall in room M-2 at snack, lunch or after school.
  Homework
  • Assignments are listed on the "Assignments" page with the newest at the top.  Worksheets can also be printed out from that page.  New assignments are usually updated Sunday evening and Wednesday evening.  You should get in the habit of checking at least twice each week for new homework, test dates and other useful information.  To avoid problems, also take a look at the "Homework Standards"
Code of Conduct
  • You should take a look at the "Code of Conduct" because that information was covered in the first 2 weeks of school and you are responsible for it.
Current Grades
  • You can easily check your current grade and see if any assignments are missing by clicking on "Grades".  Weekly progress reports can also be printed from the "grades" page or by clicking here.  This will help your parents stay current with your progress.
